The Polo Score
About
Welcome to The Polo Score.
Two people met whilst watching a game of polo at Cowdray Park Polo Club, one a photographer who had been photographing polo for more than 30 years and the other an avid polo enthusiast, whose family has been linked with polo for generations. Two cups of coffee and a bacon roll later (if you have been to Cowdray you will know exactly which bacon rolls we mean!), a realisation that we both had the same idea and drive to put our dream into motion and the idea for The Polo Score was off and running.
It took a hearty meal and a brainstorming session at the The Three Moles at Selham for the company name to be decided, helped by Ollie and Tom the wonderfully hospitable publicans, and since that day in October 2023, our vision had a name and we have been working hard to get a following on social media and to get our website up and running.
Our next steps are to find sponsors and to offer advertising to entrepreneurs, clubs and companies who could benefit from our audience. So if you are interested or know someone who would be, please get in touch - thepoloscore@gmail.com

I saw my first polo match at Guards Polo Club at the age of 18, I was mesmerised and it wasn't because it was the Cartier International Polo Day, it was the skill, control and athletic ability of both riders and horsepower on the field infront of me. At the time I only had a Fuji 35mm film telephoto lens camera, my film was used up in a matter of minutes, but I managed to capture some decent shots of Pite Merlos, who at the time was playing for Black Bears., the others were a blur of unrecognisable blobs.

Click forward some years, I won't tell you how many! Film has moved onto digital and my laptop is overflowing with polo photographs from many years sitting on the sidelines trying to improve my skills and replicate in my photography, the mesmerising, fast actioned games which we see on the polo fields infront of us.

Having been involved in Polo in one way, shape or form for more than 30 years, I am excited to finally be able to incorporate two of my passions, Polo and Photography to bring 'Polography' to the The Polo Score's followers and look forward to working with Justin to make 'The Polo Score' the number 1 site for all polo enthusiasts.
